Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 Pro Launched in India, Priced Starting at Rs 5,999

Despite facing heavy competition in recent times, Xiaomi is still the undisputed king of the budget as well as the midrange segment in India. The company has just launched the Redmi 6 series which will see them cling on to their throne for more time to come.

In a launch event held in New Delhi, Xiaomi unveiled the all-new Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and the Redmi 6 Pro for the Indian markets. The devices feature the same specs as their counterparts in China, along with the Global MIUI 9.6 ROM that comes with extra features for the Indian market.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi 6A will go on sale on September 19 on Amazon, starting at Rs 5,999, while the Redmi 6 will be available on September 10 on Flipkart for a starting price of Rs 7,999. Lastly, the Redmi 6 Pro will go on sale on September 11, exclusively on Amazon from Rs 10,999 onwards.

Redmi 6A

In terms of specs, the Redmi 6A packs in a 5.45-inch HD+ display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and is available in two variants of either 16GB or 32GB internal storage.

As for the cameras, the Redmi 6A features a 13MP shooter on the back along with a 5MP shooter up front and is juiced up with a battery of 3,000mAh. The price for the Redmi 6A is Rs. 5,999 for 2+16GB and Rs. 6,999 for the 2+32GB variant.

As for the Redmi 6, the device also features a 5.45-inch HD+ display along with the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. However, it does come with a better 3GB of RAM along with 32GB/64GB of storage which can further be expanded via a microSD card.

In the camera department, the Redmi 6 features a dual camera setup of 13MP+5MP on the back, along with a 5MP shooter on the front. It is also powered by a 3,000mAh battery, and the prices for the base variant is at Rs. 7,999 (3+32GB) and Rs. 9,499 for the 3+64GB variant.

Redmi 6 Pro

Finally, the Redmi 6 Pro is here, packing in a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display. It is powered by Xiaomi’s favourite SoC, the Snapdragon 625, along with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. As for storage, the device is available in two variants of either 32GB or 64GB, and it can further be expanded with a microSD card as well.

The device makes use of a 12MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the back, along with a 5MP sensor on the front. It holds up with a beefier battery capacity of 4,000mAh, and its prices start at Rs. 10,999 for the 3+32GB variant, and Rs. 12,999 for the 4+64GB variant.
