Samsung will roll out the Android Oreo update for the Galaxy J3 (2017), J5 (2017) and J7 (2017) in September. The news arrives via the software updates page of Samsung’s Turkish portal (via The Android Soul), though the deployment may not occur in all regions simultaneously.
Samsung says the updates are set to roll out in Turkey from September 28. However, this represents a significant delay from the previously suggested time: according to The Android Soul, the updates were set to roll out on Friday, July 13.
There’s a chance these updates might arrive in other regions a little earlier, though. The Galaxy A 2017 series updates, for example, say they are set to hit Turkey next month despite that they’ve already popped up in some places.
Android Oreo is approaching its one-year anniversary (August 21) and the final version of Android P is also expected to launch around the same time. It’s had plenty of time, but Samsung hasn’t managed to roll out all that many Oreo updates; find out more about how the major Android OEMs are doing in this regard in our ‘which manufacturer updates its phones fastest‘ coverage.
